Although opportunistic sensing seems to be more suitable for the development of pervasive systems, sensing should not have a significant impact user experience
The opportunistic paradigm introduces other challenges, namely sensor availability. The sensor availability problem refers to the difficulty in assigning requests to suitable mobile sensors. This is a problem related to communication intermittency and to device availability, since not all mobile devices have the complete set of sensors required by applications
The challenge also refers to the computational expensive cost of sensing and inference, leaving no margin for the phone to do other tasks, limiting its performance and creating people reluctance in adopting the technology
I think the main problems for sensors are the coverage, that main, they could not cover a large area ,and the problem of battery because they need a battery power, these problems are the main problem because they make the sensors network lives short ,may be shorter than what supposed.
