Hi everyone,

Recently, we have had a critical situation regarding water-resistance of one of our pressure-sensitive adhesives formulations. Water-resistance is measured by rubbing with a finger the laminates after inmersion in water during different time period (5minutes, 30 minutes, 4 hours, and 24 hours). The attached files show how the adhesive softens after being in contact with water and sometimes It comes off the substrate which is Biorented Polypropylene (BOPP).

I would like to know if someone has had similar situation or if someone who works with this kind of products, knows how factors as surfactant amount or type of them, tackifiers, monomers, or wetting agents could affect this behaviour.

Thanks in advance for your help

Lorena
