What are the limitations of VERO-E6 cells to study Covid-19 pathogenecity?

This study was published on the 19th of April 2020 claiming a vast number of mutations including missense mutations. VERO-E6 cells are renal epithelial cells originating from African green monkeys. What are the limitations of these cells and why don't we use human kidney or lung epithelium?
