Applying wavelet transform to real signals from protection relays involves preprocessing the signal to remove noise and unwanted frequency components, selecting an appropriate wavelet, and performing either continuous or discrete wavelet transform. During the analysis, features are extracted or patterns are detected from the transformed signal to identify anomalies or faults.
Namaste Sarih Saad: I am not familiar with wavelet transforms. However, it seems you are interested in a real world application. The basic concept of any transform (Fourier, Laplace, Z-,etc.) is to represent their (of the signal) energy over the domain they are defined for (frequency for Fourier, time for Z- and so on).
