I am looking for new research direction in cooperative control of multi-agent systems. What are the latest trends in this field of study? any comment is much appreciated.
The latest trends in cooperative control of multi-agent systems include but are not limited to control with a switch graph topology, triggered event-based communication, and optimal control with disturbance rejection and input constraint.

Thank you all for answering my question. I am very much interested to follow up the latest trends in application of cooperative control in multi-vehicle systems such as UAVs or UGVs. There are several theoretical open problems that require further investigation. what are the interesting applications that can be investigated? What are the challenges in practical applications that have not been yet addressed?
From theoretical perspective, many excellent literature have been proposed. From applications point of view, they are still open challenges associated with the performance measures of the control and their relationship with availability of resources and suitable design procedures. If UAVs be dealt as robotic systems, the concept and implementation of multiagent systems on such platforms invite many design challenges and are still to be investigated with practical significance.
I agree with all the above-mentioned reviews and want to further add up that "Cooperative Consensus Based Control under Cyber physical attacks " is also a hot emerging field. As far as application area is concerned you can apply it on the swarm of UAVs, UGVs, multi-mobile manipulators and it goes so....
