For assessing the impact of adoption of agriculture innovation social status was considered as one of the important dimension. So for measuring the social status what will be the important indicators?
I will like to suggest looking into social indicators such as association with reference and aspirational groups, education and income level, and opportunities of social and cultural interactions within and outside the community.
In some national statistics, which are used in relation to census data, an index of disadvantage is calulated for small areas. In Australia there is a SEIFA index. Such variables could be education of the household head, gender of household head, size of landholding, type of land tenure, family size, annual income, access to markets, income from cash crops, and any periods of food insecurity, etc
