I need your help with an analysis of 2-aryl benzymidazoles at Gas Cromotography (GC). What are the column conditions, i-column type, ii- most effective solvent and dilution amount, iii- column conditions (initial oven temperature, waiting time, final temperature and temperature increasing rate e.t.c). Also, should I use a syringe filter before analysis and which pore size should it be? Is HP-5 column okay for this? I am waiting for your experiences and more if possible. Thanks!
Now, when I read benzimidazoles, I think of the fungicide class. In my experience, we only used GC for VOC analysis because this class of chemicals tends to be thermally unstable, needing to be derivatized for GC. HPLC with TFA in the MP seems like it may be a better option...
Yes, They have application area as fungicides. I actually analysis benzaldehyde at GC. But never tried for imidazole analysis.
