Like a monochromatic light source is an idea system so a monodispersed size system is also an ideal one. Often we have to fit data to an assumed size distribution like log-normal or Gaussian distribution. Here we have to truncate data at smaller sizes and larger sizes. Such truncation may adversely affect efficiency of scientific and industrial processes based on heat and mass transfer rate, weather forecasting etc. How can one estimate the effects of truncation of particle size distribution?
