We all know that any person teaches us would be called as a teacher. The name of teacher is spelled or understood in a different way as we go for higher studies. Why they are called in different ways? What are their duties to be called as such?
A teacher educates students at the secondary, middle school or elementary level whereas a lecturer teaches at the postsecondary level in colleges and universities. A lecturer typically teaches students who are already 18 years old and above, and although lecturers also teach a set subject, they may also conduct research, publish scholarly articles, and may sometimes be given tasks in various university/college committees.
A teacher should always encourage and support his students. It also becomes a duty for a teacher that he should guide his student for further study or job according to the talent of the student. A teacher can play a bigger role in students' career than parents.
In higher education, the teacher not only teaches content, but also supports, orients and accompanies the students. You are a teacher and you are also a mentor. Not only are you taught what you will have to do as a professional, but also your attitudes and your ethical approach are important.
I think at the primary and secondary level you do more teaching, but at the university level you do more facilitating, guiding and scaffolding students' learning as they are older.
These are three different professions that have one thing in common: Passing on knowledge.
Passing on knowledge is called teaching. Teachers, university professors but also craftsmen, parents, siblings teach something. This means that not everyone who passes on knowledge is automatically a teacher, but every teacher passes on knowledge professionally.
A teacher is someone who dishes out knowledge...He or she dominates teaching and kerning process and all attention is focused on him/her, plays an active role while learners plays a passive role in teaching......lecturing on the other hand is a form of teaching but the difference is that the former takes place in a lower school setting while the later takes place in a higher academic level. .lecturing calls for active participation of the learners ..learners at this level are more matured and can left to explore learning themselves. .here, the lecturers serves more as facilitators than teachers..learner are giving a lot of responsibilities that can help in impacting knowledge ..They explore other avenues for learning order than the information the lecturer dishes out to them..learning at this level tends to be more learner centered
A school teacher teaches from class-1 to class-10. This is an early age of starting life of a student, thereby, teacher helps us to practice, dictate, makes us to write notes, make us to do activities and teaches. Under graduate lecturer is one, who teaches also giving fundamentals of a course curriculum and makes us to learn and understand. University Professor is one who guides the students in the professional or in higher education and makes to work ourself developing confidence.
Fundamentally, though all the three people serve a similar role, significant differences do exist in their roles. A school teacher is the basic academic figure, whom a kid tries to imbibe entirely (he/she needs to behave well apart from teaching). A UG lecturer lays the foundation for advanced education; he should know how to prepare a student for the real competitive environment. A professor usually is like an encyclopedia to be referred to. He guides you, given that you are an intermediate level learner in that particular field. Basically, as a school kid you are completely dependent, as a UGrad you are partially dependent, while as a scholar you are independent (in terms of work and academic knowledge)
School teacher teaches students for students of small age until 10th class. In this period, teacher plays a key role to tell good, bad, introduce fundamentals. Under graduate can be any degree in which called as lecturer teaches for teenage group going to slightly application topics and try to make them to read and understand. University professor is the highest, guides and make the students to work by themselves.
There are clear differences between school teacher, undergraduate lecturer and University professor. School teacher teaches to kids and also slightly grown up children. Undergraduate lecturer teaches to teenage students, whereas University professor teachs mostly to post graduation and professional courses.
School teachers are one who teaches the manners, care for children, report the progress of kids and children and counsel the parents also. Undergraduate lecturers teaches for teenage students, teach and supervises homework. University professors give subject knowledge, guide the students and make students or train to do their own work.
