What are the disadvantages of using biomarkers as detecttors for liver cancer?

I am doing a literature review on the detection of liver cancer. I would like to know if there are any disadvantages I could talk about for bio-markers. Also if there are any other disadvantages or critiquing view points for any other detection method for liver cancer that would also be great. Thank you!!
