We have a number of very steep streets with up to 30% grade. Whilst it is unlikely that we would build streets with that grade any more, many still exist with bitumen or asphalt surfaces. These are nearing the stage of needing new surfaces or asphalt. However, our resurfacing crews are not prepared to undertake the work due to safety concerns - the grades are steeper than the manufacturers recommended gradeability of their machines.

Has anyone had experience with resurfacing roads on steep grades?
