I know that, stripping is the process A(a+x,a)A+x, and pick-up is A+x(a,a+x)A. However, what is transfer? Does transfer include both stripping and pick-up? For instance, we call C12(He6,He4)C14 a transfer reaction.
Could any friend teach me about this, please?
If memory serves transfer is:
A(x+y,x)A+y e.g. He4(d, p)He5
pick up is
A+y(x, x+y)A e.g. He4(d, t)He3
And stripping is:
A(x+y, x & y)A e.g. He4(d, pn)He4
But I'm not 100%, particularly on the last one.

I have found some statements about this in the textbook Nuclear Reactions for Astrophysics, written by Ian Thompson and F. M. Nunes. Transfer seems to include both stripping and pickup, just in opposite directions. And the term stripping is also widely used in removal reactions as the last example.

you are absolutely right: transfer is the exchange of nucleons between projectile and target nucleus, stripping is transfer from the projectile to the target, and pickup from the target to the projectile. You also have charge exchange reactions, where nucleons flow in both directions but the mass number is conserved, like (p,n) or (3He,t), which are important. These are the traditional terms, when mostly reactions with light projectiles were studied. But for reactions in inverse kinematics, nowadays often used for radioactive nuclei, like d(13N,p)14N, there is not much sense in the terms stripping or pickup.

Yes, both are transfer reactions only..explanation is already given in above answer..
both pick up and stripping are belongs to the category of transfer reaction. Difference is that, In pick up reaction projectile take one or two nucleon from target and in stripping target take one or two nucleon from projectile .
I would like to answer your question by giving the following examples:
A pickup reaction is a reaction in which one or more nucleons is stripped off the target nucleus and transferring it to the projectile, e.g. O16(p.d)O15 where a proton strikes the target nucleus, O16, and a neutron is stripped off it (the target) and transferred to the projectile ( proton), resulting in the formation of a deuteron and O15 as the end products.
The stripping reaction is the inverse of of the pickup reaction in which one or more nucleons is stripped off the projectile and transferred to the target nucleus, e.g. O16(d,p)O17 where a neutron is stripped off the projectile (deuteron) and transferring it to the target (O16), resulting in the formation of a proton and O17 as end products.
You observe therefore, that the word " transfer" is used in both cases.
