the term of "lean" called for those operations that are trying to mitigate wastes in their operations. If it happens in manufacturing industry, it called "lean manufacturing" and managing of lean in production and operations called "lean management".

Just in Time (JIT), 5S are some examples of lean approach in lean managementr. you can find thousands of research paper about application of lean in research and practice.

In the industrial production sector of the maquiladora in Mexico, lean manufacturing refers to the philosophy of the Toyota Production System; the term lean production is used interchangeably.

Lean Management is a more advanced level of Lean Manufacturing, where the principles of TPS can be applied to a wide variety of sectors and not just the automotive or industrial sector.
