The bacterial content of sea water is normally low. Are there known human pollutants that can trigger bacterial growth, namely by providing carbon sources?

I have seen an article about crude oil; are there other studies using other substances? Sewage, of course; but I am more interested in other sources directly related to sea water pollution rather than spill-over from urban areas.

Sunscreens, for instance?

Thank you.
