can anyone please tell me what are the possible applications of bioinformatics in quality control tests of vaccine, Immunodiagnostic kits and monoclonal antibodies?
Thank you for the answer. But I have still not found any correlation between Bioinformatics and Quality control tests on Biological products as BI is used during the R&D phase and QC techniques are the final steps to evaluate a biological product. These two fields are like parallel to each other. I am still hoping someday I will get a hint on it.
In Bioinfo we always start our work with Sequencing but here there is no use of sequencing as we are working on the final product. So if you ever get any idea on this please do reply.
You are partly right Pragnya, however, we need to develop our own in-house database of sequences for the finished products that you have mentioned, using appropriate front end algorithms. Although, there are various RDBMS's & front end tools, our effort would be a bit different as i have not come across any regulatory body claiming such activity. With this we will derive a timeline based sequence database of the products that we receive for batch release. This would enable NIB in tracking a particular biological product's molecular finger print, aiding in helping the drug control authorities to take evidence based scientific decisions. Over the years NIB would undoubtedly be possessing a goldmine of data which all the stakeholders would be interested in. To begin with we can extract reference sequences already available in globally recognised public domains and engage in sequencing the products that we receive and build on it.
