I am looking for protocols to use in the environmental hygiene and microbiology lab. In particular, I would need protocols for the recovery of microorganisms from solid surfaces (different materials, e.g. glass, plastic, etc...) as well as surface sampling methods and cell culture isolation techniques. Would you be able to point me to books/texts that can help me?

We are already aware of this method, but we would like some material where we can consult valid protocols on how to contaminate surfaces of different materials and especially protocols for the recovery of microorganisms from contaminated surfaces (what solutions, tools, and methods to use) depending on the different material (metal, porous surfaces, glass, etc. ..) and size and the different type of contaminant. If there are manuals that can help us with this!
