Hello everyone, I'm a senior student working on  a electronic shifter for a FSAE race car. My main objective is to replace the current pneumatic actuator with either solenoid or servomotor actuator. According to the previous research I've been doing AC servomotor are aparently the best option because it's more precise to program since I want to also implement the neutral  gear. Some of the data I already have, is the torque to change gears which is 7.083 ft.lb. Also, a complete Gear occurs at a turn of approximately 16 (dregree) and a change from one to neutral and neutral to 2 at a 9 (degree). I'm still analyzing what servomotor actuator is the more convenient for the shifter I'm designing. I would appreciate your answers and opinions.
