Hi, I am looking for open source softwares for computational physics. Suggestions should be in the following format:
1. Software name
2. Type of interface and programming language

1. Simulation of dynamic recrystallization by a cellular automaton.
2. The front end is in Qt and back end, actual cellular automaton, in C++.
3. A generic Cellular automaton model describing
- hardening
- softening
- dynamic recrystallization
- grain boundary movements
- nucleation
of metals undergoing dynamic recrystallization.
4. Production of metals, rolling, pressing, forging, extremal functioning with failures, safety computations (eg. airplanes, buildings, cars, pipelines, industrial facilities under fire). Temperature defines the time to failure of function or total failure of the whole mechanism or construction.

OpenFOAM (finite volume, c++, MPI) should certainly figure in your short list. Many models for various physics are available and, as it is generic, you can add your own. In addition, you can couple it with LIGGGHTS using the CFDEM interface for coupling fluid and granular flows.
If you have to solver partial differential equations and field problems, I would recommend you OpenFOAM. It's not only a CFD solver. You can customize it and define your solvers for your specific problem.

AMReX is an Adaptive Mesh Refinement toolbox provides set of tool for solving PDE on uniform Cartesian/Cylindrical/Spherical grids with automatic mesh density adjustment.Supports MPI, OpenMP, CUDA and hybrid parallel algorithms. Several large scientific projects were developed using this technology: Castro, Pele-C, Pele-LM, etc

OpenFOAM for CFD simulations. Also, I reccomend Octave that works as Matlab

Don't stop at the first page. The forum is the one for the support for the software Elmer FEM.
Also I recommend OpenFOAM (CFD) and Octave (MATLAB-like) but also FreeFem++ which is dedicated to 2D & 3D finite element (=more multiphysic, COMSOL-like). A lot of advanced Direct & Large Eddy Simulations are also now available open-source. solvers
For FEM/FVM/FDM simulations you can use DUNES project
For FEM simulations on hexahedral meshes DEAL.II offers great opportunities
