Currently, I m developing a new fertilizer from organic and inorganic substances. I need to quantify how much nitrogen loss by ammonia volatilization in actual field level. Can anyone recommend the most suitable method/methods to carry out the experiment?

To be NMR analyst I know that carbamate anion formed when 15 - 20% 2-aminoethanol water solution is used as ammonia absorbent gives separate 1H NMR triplet signal which can be used as analytical one. The problem is reprodusibly ventilate fertilaysers samples for a long time and buble vent gas through absorbent. If you can construct that absorptive unit I can tell you exactly how to use NMR for quantitative assesement.
