I am reading on SNS (Social Network Sites) and would like to see what effect SNS have on college students' academic performance. Studies often consider 'amount of time spent on SNS' and 'frequency of use' as indicators for 'SNS Use'. I presume there must be other indicators in addition to these?
You could also seperate the amount of time on SNS into subparts (How much time is spent on games? How much time is spent on chatting? How much time is spent on configuration of profiles?)
The number or frequency of given likes and number of given comments could also be seen as indicators.
The parameters used depend on the type of social network.
Facebook: the coverage of the post, the net return of the "I like", the involvement (click, comments, shares, ...), the insight (statistics pages)
Twitter: the growth of followers, the involvement (engagement), mentions by other users, the type of content that has been most successful, the frequency of use
LinkedIn: the trend followers (of a page, that is), the level and type of follower (of which sector, which area of ...), involvement (shares, comments)
