I think that for the control of this pathogen can be used two ways: chemotherapy, i.e. use avirulent Fusarium o. l. strains to induce immunity of plants and biocontrol agents with multifunctional activity (Trichoderma is best). Moreover, the use of biocontrol agents should begin as a prophylactic (seeds, the soil before planting). Support the immune status of the plant can also be through the use of elicitors (chemical or biological origin).

This has some meaning. However, our long-term studies have shown relatively high efficiency of biological control of Fusarium on tomato and cucumber. Chemical control of root rot vegetable crops without any preventive measures does not ensure success.

The success of any protection (biological, chemical) provided the fullest use of all available methods and means. It is necessary to take into account all the factors (variety, agricultural, fertilizer, etc.). In each case requires an individual approach. Universal recomendation can not be.

If the Fusarium is soil born diseases and producing a hardy structure like chlamydospores, then It is hard to control it. These structures are almost resistant to every biocontrol agents and even fungicides. In such situation, what I expect, is the development of resistant varieties on regular basis is a good strategy. Anyway being plant pathologist, there may be some mycoviruses which can feed both chlamydospores and its future the fusarium fungi, so we can utilize these mycoviruses to manage the diseases. The question is how? Can we spray these mycoviruses in the soil?  The answers to this question are no of course. So mycoviruses is good to control fusarium in laboratories. The other best strategy, I think, is the application of elicitors or dipping the seeds of tomatoes in biocontrol agents is the best strategy to induce defense system in Tomato plants. The notorious fungi the fusarium spp. having wide host range and forma specialis is more tricky in its genome. Therefore the only possible solution that I think is to induce resistance in tomato plants by inducing resistance or application of biocontrol agents in a large scale.

We can reduce a disease by incorporation in soil of  Trichoderma harzianum or Trichoderma viride isolates or Medicinal plant extract. I have done the same study.

Possibly yes, for using correct technology for Trichoderma before infection, but after heavily infection it is not easy  to control the disease by Trichoderma.

Certainly yes! I guess that after heavily infection control (as biological and chemical) is practically inefficiently.

i think we should before diagnoses the agriculture stile before starting any therapy or control programs. my point of view is to try to create a rhizoplan or rhizospher under control with any tested biological control, this procedure i do with soilless culture by using agr-waist substrate and it gave good effects.
