Malaysia has been practicing the conventional construction, which is labour intensive, inefficiency, and inconsistent in quality. Even though the Industrialized Building System (IBS) has been promoted years ago by the government, the intake is still not encouraging. What are the barriers of IBS implementation in a developing country like Malaysia?
One of my students found in his study that slow application of IBS in Malaysia is due to insufficient knowledge and skills, and limitation for further renovation to the completed IBS building.
