Terminal SMC and its variants are finite time controller based on sliding mode control. Is there any other robust and finite time controlller available?
Eng.shashi. i do not know that there is or not there is! but my question is what is you problem with using sliding mode control, that you needed to other controller? in the other word, what is error in smo in your application
in SMC you should to use sign function or sat,..........
terminal SMC is used to reduce the chattering . This type of SMC is used to reduce the chattering as well as improve the stability and robust. I think this type of controller should to compare with boundary layer SMC or the other type of chatter free SMC.
TSM main purpose is to improve convergence speed and ensure finite time convergence in sliding phase, and to improve also the steady precision. Other finite time controller may be designed using the higher order sliding mode control, or many other strategy may be developed which can ensure finite time convergence
