Engineers need a wide range of instruments for different mineral industries. The engineers must evaluate each application during the process design and select an appropriate instrument.
In the mining, minerals processing and building materials industry, industrial measurement technology play a crucial role in efficient plant control. Performing under the harshest operating conditions, any kind of measurement (flow, level, temperature, pressure) must be reliable and reproducible. Electromagnetic flowmeters on dredgers for measuring the flow of abrasive slurries.are being used for its reliability.
Data Mining is a process which has long been used by companies to produce useful information from raw data lying in their data base. By following this process, companies not only get to hold important usable content but they also enable themselves to make informed decisions, which in turn benefits the company in many different ways.Considering the advancement in the IT industry in India, data mining services India has come a long way with improvements in technology that yield better results. So much so, that global clients headquartered in other countries outsource their projects to companies in India that provide Data Mining Services http://techsmartyblog.wordpress.com/2014/04/04/domain-of-data-mining/
The WISDM (Wireless Sensor Data Mining) Lab is concerned with collecting the sensor data from smart phones and other modern mobile devices (e.g., tablet computers, music players, etc.) and mining this sensor data for useful knowledge. Currently our efforts are mainly focused on the acclerometer and GPS sensor data from these devices, but in the future we will mine the audio sensors (microphones), image sensors (cameras), light sensors, proximity sensors, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, direction sensors (compasses) and various other sensors that reside on these devices.http://www.cis.fordham.edu/wisdm/
The techniques used so far for process instrumentation depends on the chemical processes involved (specifically for mineral industries), henceforth the process control would also incorporate the same. It may involve soft computing approaches especially supervised neural networks or a wide variety of sensors depending upon the nature of process viz. calcification, roasting, smelting etc.
It depends if you want to control technical processes in productions or labs or if you want to control and manage business processes. For the technical processes you use all kind of sensors to get the quality, flow and other data to keep the technical process under control. Business processes require a complete lifecycle management form the design, implementation, execution to control of the executed processes. Normally you use a combination of management techniques and information technology tools to achieve that. See e.g. my last book about "Value-driven Business Process Management".
