Very good question. In our area, Caterpillar Inc. is located in my home town of Peoria, Illinois. The made a decision that every facility must be build to meet sustainable standards and must be certified as such. This is true for all Caterpillar facilities worldwide. What is called Corporate Social Responsibility is now embraced by the major multinational companies across the USA. General Electric has developed significant strategies in this domain.
