Why is there a difference between an item on a to-do list or calendar that says "Goto gym" versus one that says "Fit into tuxedo in time for wedding - work out at the gym now!"
Which studies can I read that demonstrate this difference?
Hi Jesse - Sorry...once again, I'm not seeing these updates on Researchgate... I am aware of implementation intentions but only as they relate toestablishing time and place for task completion. How do these attributes relate to wording per se?
I may have to clarify the question I asked. Specifically, I am looking for differences in wording between prospective memory tasks. That is, how/when is one particular kind of wording more or less likely to lead to task completion?
For example: "Remember the milk" vs. "Remember to feed my daughter."
I'm not looking at additional attributes such as time/place - those typically included in implementation intentions. Just specific wording as a motivational tool.
I should have been a bit more narrowly focused at the onset. Thanks for the replies so far!
