There are two categories of devices that may be used for measurement of HRV for standardization of a new device.

One category is Data acquisition systems (DAQs) that are easy to carry from one experiment site to site. My recommendations will be 1. Power Lab system by AD Instruments 2. Biopac Systems by Biopac Inc.

Both companies offer low cost options if ECG is the only signal to be recorded. Such low cost options will have only 1-2 channels i.e. ports for recording only 1-2 biomedical signals. AD Instruments provides free software (as a bundle) for HRV analysis.

Other category of devices are wearables. These do not employ ECG recording and measurement, but are validated for use for measurement of HRV. My recommendation in this category will be wearables by Polar or Garmin. There is scientific literature available for the use of this fitness wearables for HRV estimation.
