Index of Relative Abundance is commonly used as a proxy for abundance of mammal species found in camera trap studies, what other methods would you use to better communicate results from camera trap studies?
You can also include aside the RAI, the Naïve occupancy, or the true occupancy if you recorded enough covariates to model it. Species accumulation and activity patterns can both also help you to characterize your mammal community. I would recommend Bruce et al. 2018 (Using camera trap data to characterize terrestrial larger-bodied mammal communities in different management sectors of the Dja Faunal Reserve, Cameroon. African Journal of Ecology)
Thank you all. I was looking for most common alternatives to RAI because sometimes effort is restricted for a variety of reasons and there´s not always enough cameras for occupancy analysis. But these are all good answers, depending on the data set characteristics.
