Now a days, we scientists do receive lot of mails from many publishers saying that they will publish them very fast. Hope such journals are "predatory journals. How these menace may be stopped? How to avoid this?
Predatory journals are profit oriented one and they never think of the quality or and authenticity of the paper. They misuse the ISSN number and website of certain journals and publish them in duplicate by manipulating website. so it is better to check through Scopus website and take the original website of the journal and also check the journal authenticity by writing a mail to the contact. Most of the journals display in their website contact with details. but these predatory journal give only mail id. send a mail to them and you find no reply for it. even if you get a reply, write a quiry for them and check from which IP number you received this mail. It shows fake. so drop your idea from publishing in such journals
Predatory publishing, sometimes called writing-only or deceptive publishing, is a business model for exploitative academic publishing that involves imposing publishing fees on authors without checking articles for quality and legitimacy and without providing other editing and publishing services provided by legitimate academic journals, whether they are open access or not.
The site https://predatoryjournals.com/ was established in January 2017. There are no signs that it was updated after February 2017. Several links are outdated - perhaps these journals do no longer exist. Other new predatory journals may be missing. Does anyone know more about this site?
Here is a site with lists of predatory publishers and journals, which seems still to be updated: https://beallslist.net/
It was mentioned in a new discussion on this topic: https://www.researchgate.net/post/What_is_the_accuracy_level_of_Bealls_efforts_https_beallslistnet_in_tracking_predatory_journals_across_the_world
