I am running CFD for the cavity flows in a shrouded stator of an axial compressor. I am using an FNMB connection for the cavity and main blade row. I am having trouble getting my mesh right for the FNMB, my bladerow mesh is a lot coarser than the cavity mesh. I want to know what are the good practices for an FNMB connection.
Review the manual on expert parameters that control the triangulation-tessellation data structure that is created at the interface. Check that the geometrical surface the connection lies on is properly mapped to by either side of the grid. Please also note that there are specific expert parameters to parallel computing with FNMB available. In order to say more, I would need to know the nature of the problems you are experiencing. For instance, is the actual grid connection failing?- Did the connection succeed, But the solution diverges/blows up?, Is there some issue with the computed flow field itself?,…
