A book or some set materials are not even close to enough for CMOS Layout design. But to start with, I require a good book and some relevant materials. I have done the layouts of some basic static CMOS circuits. Now it is the time to make the layout of the design I am working with (an architecture of ternary CAM with some control and gating circuitry).
Which books or materials I can refer for an optimised layout? I am going to use virtuoso layout suite for the design.
CMOS: Circuit Design, Layout, and Simulation, 3rd Edition is a good book for circuit and layout design.

2.The Art of Analog Layout (2nd Edition) by Alan Hastings (Jul 4, 2005)
By far the best book that exclusively deals with CMOS layout (with analog emphasis though) is "The Art of Analog Layout" by Alan Hastings.
You may find fleeting references here and there to layout in other Analog design books (e.g. CMOS by Baker or Design of Analog CMOS Integrated Circuit by Razavi).
You may also want to check: Digital Integrated Circuits: A Design Perspective (2nd Edition) by Jan M. Rabaey, Anantha Chandrakasan, Borivoje Nikolic.
I work in analog layout domain .
To have feeling of analog layout , I would recommend 2 books for the analog layout design.
1. "Design of Analog CMOS Integrated Circuit " by B Razavi (only end of the 3 chapters for layout not whole content)
Best book or we can say only dedicated book for the analog layout which talks about the real concept of matching, electromigrations, latchup , cross-section, fabrication etc:
