By new idea in science, I mean an idea that suggests or points to a breakthrough or points to a promising path that could lead to a breakthrough concerning a physical system such as black holes either inside or outside of our galaxy or concerning the nature of light or ways to isolate and measure photons.
It depend what one means by science? For example anti-realists and realists do agree about the ideas that aim to truly describe the observable world but when it comes to physics the anti-realists disagree w.r.t. the existence of quarks or the theories which concern the subatomic physics. One can not observe "time" and it does not exist. Therefore "big Bang" does not exist since one can not go back in time only via math which is in our mind.
Motivating question to bridge philosophy and science.

Near the end of the last century & the start of the 21st century, I gave my students literature survey assignments in a course entitled "Chemistry & Society". Few students presented new approaches , which were then under investigation by specialists in chemistry & medicine, to manufacture an artificial human heart & artificial human bloods.
I did not have time to follow up those interesting research areas. I really wonder if there has been breakthroughs in these subjects since the year 2005.
