I'm trying to determine the amount of glucose consumption using 14C-labelled 2-DG.
What would be the good controls to use in the experiment? For negative I planned to use low glucose media and for positive either pretreatment with Insulin or ATP.

Hello. Is the test you would like to perform glucose consumption not glucose uptake in the cells?
If the parameter you want is uptake, 2-DG is a good tool, but as you know 2-DG is not a good substance because it inhibits the glycolysis.

I also used 3H--labelled 2-DG for glucose uptake, although it is insulin dependent.
