that sounds like an interesting topic. I feel your question could benefit from adding more detail, though, i.e. about background (which facet of biodiversity) study design (e.g. spatial and temporal scales) and what exactly you mean by 'analytical' method', as it's not entirely clear whether you're referring to analytics in chemistry or an experimental approach.
Whether you want to look into species (abundance and turnover) or genetic diversity very much determines which approaches will and can be suggested.

If interested in aquatic insects as indicator, report on my researchgate with a moth (spruce budworm) on the report cover shows an example of using them relative to pesticide applications, and also relative to spill effects in Willow Creek accident and recovery. There may areas difficult to understand, as reporting tools for me were limited 30 years ago.
