As of the moment, I am using a descriptive statistics as a method of analysis. I am thinking to use SPSS but i just need to know how to use it first. I hope you could help me with this.
If you intend to limit your analysis to descriptive statistics, then SPSS is an excellent tool, but so would many others, including simple Excel. That depends on the exact descriptive statistics that you intend to use.
Before you think what kind of analysis you need to conduct, first you should know how many variables (independent variables, dependent variables and moderating/mediating variables if you have) you have in your model, what is the measurement level of these variables (interval, ration, ordinal or nominal) and what is the purpose of the analysis (your hypothesized relationship) In addition you should also know whether your variables repeated measured or once? Only then some advice can be offered. I suggest you stick with some simple software like Excel and SPSS .if you are new to research. If you have complex model or have time series data then you may use Eviews etc.
I agree with Arif ul Haq and Abdul Azeez. It depends upon the nature of research. What is the nature of your research that you are going for descriptives? Your hypothesis decided which test is the suitable one.
My update for this project 5 days ago included my proposal paper submitted to the Chancellor of our University and the Survey questionnaire. You can refer there. I think my research is a qualitative-quantitative nature. I have done a pre-survey today using 15 sample and now encoding it to an Excel sheet.
