In a research article i read " A sample of 39.5 mg GO was mixed with 13.0mL anhydrous ethanol in a beaker. In synthesis part " I am confused how is the amount 39.5 and 13 ml is decided ? can some one help why the author take that amount ??

Dear , sorry for the misunderstanding, but there is a huge gap between the question and the details given after it. In such situation the best and simplest way to get the answer is to email the main author of the mentionned paper. His email is at the bottom of the first page. I think the authors use one of the references cited in the introduction. Usually the amount of solvant is the amount necessary to overcome the surface free energy of the dispersed component to overcome particle-particle cohesion. My Regards
