The egg shell consist of other proteins and polysaccharides which promotes growth of crystals. Ovocleidin-17 (OC17), Osteopontin(OPN) which is a bone matrix, serum albumin, ovalbumin, lysozyme and ovotransferrin. It also contains proteoglycans, primary keratan sulphate and dermatan sulphate.
