I wrote a review article in some thing, but before submitting it, there is a similar one was published in another journal. what is the percentage for accepting mine (from prospective of novelty)?
Can it be published in high impacted journal regardless the similarity.
What you advice me to do?
Review articles are always written by the experts in that particular field or the ones who have studied quite number of such areas/ subject with more than a decade or two of experience.
If the person you are referring is more authorized and given more meaningful presentation then definitely your paper wont be considered.
Unless there is something new in the subject, not the style of writing, but the content wise and concept wise, there is less chance of your paper getting published.
Plainly, a review article does not add significant novelty from the author. The authors of the review paper do a critical analysis of the existing literature on a particular field. As pointed out by Dr. Assori Latha, a review article must be written by an expert author who has mastered his field of research. Usually, leading journals invite such authors to write a review paper. You can not submit a review paper just like regular paper. You require prior permission and consent from the Editor if the journal is a reputed leading journal. There are journals which exclusively publish review papers where you can try. Reviewers of leading journals are well aware of the advances in the field with latest literature. Hence, a second review paper on the same field in the same time frame will be denied for publication. However, you can still write a review paper on the same field after the passing of several years during which the same field has developed significant new knowledge/development. Nevertheless, you can still publish your review paper at the moment with some modifications to lower and open access journals who starve for paper submission.
The acceptance of your article will entirely depend on the scientific contributions in terms of the suggestions you give after a thorough analysis of what has been done so far in that area. I doubt whether your work will be accepted if you just state what has been done and then fail to chip in and give your expert opinion of what you thin is the trend, and or give some insightful suggestions on how the identified challenges, if any, should be addressed.
