Although in principal you can prepare any films using PLD, it appears not a good idea to deposit chalcogenide-based materials using PLD with nano-second laser, this usually leads to the issues like stoichiometry (not a issue for oxides) and particles, but certainly you can get high quality film using fs-laser since this is a completely different physical process that is similar to thermal evaporation.
