Foliar spray of bioinoculants like Azotobacter and PSB in wheat were found as effective as seed treament in wheat. Spray was done at 40 days of sowing. Seed treatment +foliar spray was better than ST or FA.

For production of plants such as wheat there are critical stages. Early seedling stage is but one. In a crop like wheat beside the seedling stages there is a stage about one month after planting when tillering is initiated. Thirdly the boot stage just before initiation of flowering stage and fourthly the stage after pollination but before the grain is heavily filling. In terms of your study the foliar application can include biostimulants like humic acid, kelp and the bioinoculant. The humic acid and kelp will help feed your beneficial microflora and of themselves stimulate mobilization of the plant resources. The concentration for humic acid and kelp at 100 ppm each shall be sufficient. The advantage is getting multiple benefits from one spray.

I think that seeds inoculation with bio fertilizers is more effective than foliar spray in case of Wheat,but the more effective was foliar spray with bio stimulants like humic substances +seeds treatment with bio fertilizers.

What sd be the conc of humic acid and how it can be prepared? What do u mean by kelp. Pl. Also mention how humic acid affect the growth.

Foliar applied nutrients are one hundred to five hundred times more effective than root nutrition. Likewise , we can route microbial broth through irrigation to make it more effective. We should always concentrate on rhizosphere where microbes are more comfortable than phyllosphere or inside the plant , unless they are endophytes .In my opinion , if foliar bioinoculants are more effective than seed treatment ( which is cost effective as well as efficacious as well), they are promising condidates to serve as endophytes...

Thanks Dr Srivastava for good suggestion. We should explore possibilities of endophytes with regard to foliar spray. these endophytes if, they work in root zone, they can have mobility to phyllosphere.

Thanks Dr Ali for your response. kindly give any reference of use of humic acid use along with bioinoculants. i want to test humic acid in my experiments. hence procedure of preparation of humic acid should be mentioned.
