Good day all. I often find that researchers use weight and mass as synonyms. I get very frustrated, since I really think we as scientists should know the difference. Even worse, there are numerous publications out there that do that. I am currently reviewing a paper that talks about specific leaf weight, but the unit is g/cm2, so clearly NOT weight. I googled it and found specific leaf mass as well as specific leaf weight. I feel I should correct it, but who am I to go against peer reviewed and already published papers?
