The learned author completely ignores the Great Game Theory (see Narendra S. Sarila's most authentic book on the subject). Balkanization of India was mainly Churchill's snake oil rationale for continued influence in the subcontinent; FDR rejected it; but W.C. wickedly lied to FDR. Churchill who HATED the Hindus, finally prevailed. Jinnah's took the bait. Both Nehru and Gandhi failed to foresee the obvious consequences. The so called new Madina theory was a euphemism for India's Partition! New Madina or New Post-Colonial Great Game?
