Dear Vision Experts,
Currently I am working on big dataset related with reaction times (RT) to coloured stimuli on the Stroop Test. While data analysing I have noticed interesting differences between RTs to certain colours and some groups of individuals.
Available literature that I can find gives meagre to limited explanation of this phenomenon and I would be grateful for pointers to any theories/models or related experimental work elaborating on coloured-stimuli reaction time.
In relation to the above, I would be happy to hear from researchers about trends or relations between RT and coloured stimuli in their (even unpublished) work.

Thanks for the question, Magdalena. We expect slower RTs to colored stimuli in certain situations (e.g., when the word and the color are incongruent - the Stroop effect - see the attached reference).
It sounds like you are finding that RTs are slower for some colors compared to others and for some participants compared to others. Do you mind sharing your specific findings? What colors and participant characteristics lead to slower RTs? This may help us speculate as to why this is happening.

I just wanted to point out the possibility that the coloured stimuli used might present different luminances and contrasts although it may not be apparent to the naked eye unless you desaturate them.
