I am new to this Vissim software.
I am creating a simulation for my Final Year Project.
My idea is when the detector placed in main road detected a vehicle pass by, it will give signal to the vehicle from the side lane to stop and after the vehicle passed, detector is cleared, then the vehicle from the right lane start to move.
How am I able to use the detector to control the movement of vehicle from the other lane? (Such as slowing down, stop or go).
Any example on this simulation?

If you have ever tried to simulate an intersection in vissim and tried to run the simulation you would have noticed that vehicles don't overlap each other as per the restriction in the programming of the software. If you want to implement this idea in real-world to replace the Yielding Road sign with a detector then you must first know the results in the form of delays on ramps or on weaving sections due to through or as you say main lane traffic once you know those results you can introduce impedance factors in the form of time usually seconds for those lanes. This will help you to suggest the time required for a detector to make the entering lane vehicles to wait before they enter the main lane.

Sorry maybe my question not very well asked.
I am currently doing reducing traffic congestion with the usage of autonomous vehicles.
So my idea is i will control the speed of the vehicles in main lane and the vehicle coming from the other lane. By setting the speed, i am able to determine when the vehicle In the main lane will pass through the intersection. By using detector, if it sensed there is a vehicle in the detect area, it will instruct the vehicles coming from the other lane to slow down or stop. And when the vehicle at the main lane passed through the detector, the vehicles from the other lane will be cleared to move.
I am thinking of using the detector to give signal to the vehicles coming from other lane to move, slow down or stop.

If I understand you correctly, both vehicles (main lane and side lane) travel on the same road, just different lanes, correct?
In this case, you should in any case model the main lane and the side lane with different links. If they are different lanes of the same link, you may have vehicles that are too smart by half and try to avoid obstacles by changing lanes or such. You probably don't want that. :)
Then what you describe is pretty close to what conflict areas do. Vehicles without right of way will look for a sufficient gap to pass through. Then by fiddling with the parameters, you may be able to get what you want relatively cheaply.
If this is not sufficient for your needs, the generic way would be scripting. Use filters to figure out if a vehicle comes on the main lane or the side lane and manipulate them. Note, however, that this may be pretty costly in terms of simulation time.
