Good morning,

I am currently working on a cross-cultural project on Collective Teacher Efficacy and I would be interested in investigating how contextual and cultural factors relates to the way that teachers answer items on CTE scales. I have been looking into the Think Aloud method and Cognitive interviews, but the only use I found relates more to either the cognitive processes underlying replies or understanding and validity of the items. My interest it's more towards teachers reasons on why they answered an item in a certain way - not from a perspective on cognitive processes, but to collect information on contextual factors. Does anybody knows of research design that have used the Think aloud protocols in a similar way or is aware of literature on methodology that could help use the method for this purpose?
