I have a literature about thermomechanical modelling of TBC systems, which use a creep model for the thermal barrier coating consisting of primary and secondary creep. The constants vary with temperature and have been obtained by curve fitting I guess. I only need the data for secondary creep. I think I can use them, but I am not sure...Any help would be appreciated.

No that is not the case. The values in this literature gives me better results.
You should be more precise on your particular case if you want to get some relevant advice. I understand that you have found a model for TBC systems with data for secondary creep. But the model is "more complex" than needed, so you hesitate using it.
So the questions coming to mind are :
- Why is it "more complex" so that it provokes your hesitation : because it also has data for primary creep ? Because the constants vary with temperature ? Because it has been obtained by curve fitting ? Because you doubt it is relevant for your particular application ? Why then ? Anything else ? In a word what is the cause of your hesitation in relationship with the complexity of the model ?
- if you judge that the model is good and relevant for your application (aren't you the expert ?), but you anyway want to get complementary advice, you should give some more information on : your application, the material, the primary and secondary creep data (can you provide curves ?), the model equations (including the influence of the temperature on the constants), etc. Are there specific problems : of design ? Of working conditions ? Of extrapolation ? Related to laser drilling ? Of using a design code and/or standards ? Which are not clarified yet ? Which problems ? Can you give the needed information to allow others to make an opinion and give you complementary advice ?
- You say that the values in the literature you have gathered give you better results. Is that the root of the problem ? If yes, better results than what ? Than what you expected on base of your own experience ? On base of already performed experiments in your laboratory ? On base of what you know from the solicitations ? .....
- Or is it just that you would like to find somebody on RG which has already acquired more experience than yours on laser drilling and thermomechanical modelling of TBC ?
