Do any one know what is the standard duration for inactivation of bacteria by formaldehyde in vaccine preparation?
what is the condition during this process (incubation temperature)?
Also for neutralizing the formaldehyde , is sodium metabisulfite is good ?
if yes , for how long it should be applied for neutralizing and in which condition ?

Formaldehyde has commonly been used in inactivation of viruses & bacteria and detoxification of toxins in preparation of vaccines. Conditions of formaldehyde treatment varies from days to weeks depending upon the bacteria/virus, formaldehyde conc. and conditions (37°C or 2-8°C). You may need to study an inactivation curve using conditions you choose to ensure that the bacteria get inactivated and you preserve the immunogenicity or protective activity of the vaccine.
Since formaldehyde reaction is reversible, there is always some amount of residual formaldehyde in vaccines prepared with formaldehyde. Neutralization of formaldehyde with sodium metabisulfite is not common in production of vaccines with formaldehyde inactivation/detoxification.
I am agree wit reply of Dr Rajesh but I want to refer that formaldehyde can lose its potential if it is preserved at 4-8 oC to be change to paraformaldehyde and H2O . but generally you can use 0.4% for bacterial. vaccine preparations at 37 oC for 9 weeks in case of TT preparation and 24 hr for E coli inactivation and you have to neutralize usoing sodium bisulfite solution to remove residual formalin. but in case of virus 6 hr for RVFV , within 24 hr for rabies
