Use of Cores in Inductor design?

Why we use IRON Powder core for inductor design and avoid from ferrite core.

kindly, guide me about the usage of inductor design cores. The switching frequency is 30KHz which one will be best from iron powder and ferrite core?

Pure iron will not work at 10 kHz due to the large Eddy currents. A composite core based on iron powder can be a solution. Certainly ferrites will work well at that frequency.
