Urea transporter-inhibitor diuretics (UTID) is an active research field now being tested in mice; their action is based on the key role urea transport plays a key role -at the tubular level- in the concentration of urine [1]. Given that chicken and other birds don´t appear to concentrate urine through a urea-transport dependent mechanism [2], should one expect birds to be relatively unresponsive to the action of such UTID diuretics?
