Please excuse the poor photograph. This very large body has appeared in my mouse intestinal organoid culture. To the right (out of focus) is my budding organoid, and in the centre is this very large 'cell' with a thin membrane and some granular cell contents. Usually the mini organoids appear as small doughnut-like perfect spheres, which then grow bigger, with quite a thick row of cells around the edge, before they begin to bud and grow to the size as seen at about 1 oclock in this picture) Whatever it is, it is not showing any evidence of budding, and is not deterred by the pen/strep/gentamycin AND fungicide I have in the media. Anyone seen this before?
